In Person Event: We Need To Talk About Money / Otegha Uwagba

Let’s talk about one of the last taboos: money.

Who has it, who doesn’t, what you do with it, and what options that affords you.

An extraordinarily candid personal account of the ups and downs wrought by money, We Need To Talk About Money allows writer and podcast host Otegha Uwagba to explore toxic workplaces she’s worked in and misogynist men she’s known.

She talks about about getting payrises (and how to ask for it) and getting evicted when money gets too tight and you’re at the mercy of a greedy landlord who hikes up your rent. Through her experiences and relationship with money, she explores being the child of immigrants, class, privilege, racism and beauty.

Chaired by Kathryn Stanczyszyn, BBC journalist and broadcaster.
