Writing Workshop 5: Writing Historic Place with Natalie Marlow
This walking workshop will visit Birmingham’s Needless Alley and culminate in the Roundhouse, taking in some of the key sites featured in Natalie Marlow’s 1930s crime noir of the same name. After the tour, Natalie will guide you through the process of creating an atmospheric setting in your own writing.
Taking the existing Birmingham cityscape as a starting point, you will learn how to evoke a strong sense of place through both historic research and creative practice.
