The Home Child: Liz Berry
Acclaimed poet Liz Berry’s novel-in-verse, The Home Child, is inspired by the story of her great aunt, one of thousands of British children sent to Canada to work as indentured servants. Following Eliza’s journey from the slums of the Black Country to the wilds of Nova Scotia, these poems tell a heartbreaking story of a girl far from home.
Join us for a very special performance of The Home Child, where for the first time Liz’s poems will be accompanied by exquisite fiddle music from Ruth Angell live on stage.
Introduced by Jonathan Davidson.
