Honour Among Thebes

April 22 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

£8/£6.40 (concessions).  Festival Pass: FREE

Birmingham’s own Natalie Haynes, writer, broadcaster and comedian, takes on Sophocles in her second novel, The Children of Jocasta. A new telling of an ancient story, with women to the fore, The Observer finds it ‘vivid and affecting’.

To introduce the book Natalie will present a humorous history of Ancient Greece which she is calling ‘Honour Among Thebes’. We love it already.

“When you have grown up as I have, there is no security in not knowing things, in avoiding the ugliest truths because they can’t be faced”.

Eligible for the Birmingham Literature Festival Spring Edition Pass.
